Raised at altitudes over 3,000 metres in the Andean highlands, Peruvian alpacas have adapted to extreme conditions over thousands of years. Their fibres feature microscopic air pockets that provide natural insulation, keeping the animals cool in heat and warm in freezing temperatures. This same quality makes SENTALER coats exceptionally warm yet remarkably lightweight.

SENTALER alpaca fibres are globally regarded for their softness, natural drape, and superior thermal performance. Measuring just 20 microns, they are among the finest natural fibres in the world. TYPES OF ALPACA

SENTALER’s Peruvian alpaca fabrics represent a rare and premium natural textile, deeply rooted in sustainability and cultural heritage. As a significant part of Peru’s identity, alpaca fibres are ethically sourced through a humane shearing process that takes place only once every two to three years, ensuring the health and well-being of these gentle, domesticated animals. Shearing not only preserves the quality of the fibre but also helps the alpacas stay groomed and healthy in their high-altitude environment.

BABY ALPACA

SENTALER Baby Alpaca is sourced from the first shearing of the alpaca, when the fibres are at their softest, finest, and most luxurious, primarily from around the neck where the alpaca hair is naturally the most delicate.

SURI ALPACA
