Each SENTALER coat is crafted individually in the world’s finest fabric, Peruvian alpaca. Hand-finished using only sustainable and cruelty-free fibres and shearlings, each signature ribbed detail is crafted one-by-one. Product features like natural cupro lining and brand-engraved corozo buttons are just some examples of the keen attention to detail that can be discovered in each coat.

DISCOVER ALPACA
SENTALER works with specialized expert artisans from more than 120,000 individual families who have invested in owning and nurturing alpacas for agriculture gain and financial profit. These native workers who live in harmony with the alpaca’s natural environment have learned the sustainable ways of the alpaca industry through generations of tradition and education that provide the ability to select only the best alpaca fibers from each shearing.
Raised at extremely high altitudes of over 3,000 meters above sea-level in the freezing Andean highlands, Peruvian alpacas have lived in this region for millennia, and over time have developed hair with advanced thermal properties that keep the animals cool in hot temperatures, and warm in the cold. Peruvian alpaca fibers contain microscopic air pockets in each hair which act like a natural thermal insulator to retain body heat. This is why SENTALER coats are lightweight, yet exceptionally warm - perfect for winter outerwear.
Known for its exceptionally soft hand feel, beautiful natural drape, and incredible warmth, alpaca fibers are among the finest in the world, measuring at only 20 microns. Alpaca fabric is also hypoallergenic and will not mat, pill, tear, fade or lose shape. Alpaca fibers can be found in over 22 natural colours.
TYPES OF ALPACA
Baby Alpaca
The very first shearing of an alpaca animal is considered the softest of its mane. Essentially virgin wool, and more specifically the baby hair around the neck, is what comprises SENTALER’s precious Baby Alpaca fabrics. Lightweight and exceptionally warm, our Peruvian Baby Alpaca fabrics are made from natural and sustainable fibers that have an exquisite hand feel, perfect for winter weather.
Suri Alpaca
One of the most rare types of Peruvian alpaca, the Suri Alpaca cameloid animal has silky hair that grows long and straight to the ground. SENTALER’s signature Zibeline finish provides a luxe texture, beautiful natural sheen and is among the warmest in the collection. Exceptionally soft and incredibly warm, SENTALER Suri Alpaca fabric adds grace and elegance for an elevated look fitting for any occasion.
Bouclé Alpaca
Using the long and straight hair of the Suri Alpaca, SENTALER’s Bouclé Alpaca fabric has a thick and textured finish for a plush experience like no other. Among the warmest in the SENTALER collection, Bouclé Alpaca provides supreme warmth, refinement, and durability, perfect for everyday wear.
