#SENTALER4SickKids IS BACK!
Give this holiday season and shop to support SickKids! Every hat and scarf purchase helps.
We are thrilled to be partnering again with SickKids this season to support the exceptional care provided to children around the world. This year, proceeds from SENTALER Kids or Adult 100% alpaca hat or scarf purchases* will be donated to SickKids.
“When I first became a mother a few years ago, I learned what pure and unconditional love really is. I also learned about the high level of excellence and the endless human care that SickKids provides to children in need in Canada and worldwide. I made a promise to myself that I would provide support to SickKids in whatever way I can. It will be my honour to help in changing the destiny even of a single child. That is why I am so thrilled that SENTALER is partnering with SickKids again. Thank you very much to all those who supported last year we couldn't have done it without you! We're not done yet! The greatest gift is the gift of giving!” says Bojana Sentaler, Designer & Creative Director of SENTALER.
*15% of proceeds of adult and kids hats and scarves (excluding classic scarves) sold between October 2017 and February 2018 will be donated directly to SickKids Foundation.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. As innovators in child health, SickKids improves the health of children by integrating care, research and teaching.
Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation raises funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children. The Foundation's fundraising is driven by the belief that improving the health and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society. Community support, separate and distinct from government and granting agencies, is a critical source of funding for SickKids. In the fiscal year that ended March 31, 2015, SickKids Foundation invested $108.4 million in child health research, learning and care.
The first pediatric hospital in Canada, SickKids is known as one of the world’s top children’s hospital. It is Canada’s leading centre dedicated to improving children’s health and home to Canada’s largest, hospital-based child health research institute.
Innovation, excellence, compassion and family-centered care distinguish SickKids and enable its success in using research discoveries to quickly improve patient care. SickKids treats more than 100,000 patients every year and is home to more than 10,000 staff, researchers and volunteers.

SKYLER KASH KENDALL'S STORY - SENTALER4SickKids 2016
Skyler Kash Kendall was born on July 19th, 2014 to adoring parents, Levon and Alexandra Kendall. At the age of ten months, Skyler’s parents received the devastating news that Skyler had a two-inch brain tumor in his lower right cerebellum, next to his brain stem.
Within minutes of receiving this information, Skyler was rushed into emergency surgery to have a Cerebral VP Shunt permanently inserted into his head. Shortly thereafter, the family travelled to SickKids Hospital Toronto via Medivac to see the best neurosurgeons in the world. Once arriving in Toronto, Skyler underwent another surgery to remove the tumor to be biopsied for malignant cells.
The results everyone feared became an immediate reality for the young family: Skyler had a cancerous tumor in his brain.
The diagnosis was a malignant tumor called Anaplastic Ependymoma and Skyler’s first treatment would be to undergo six weeks of intensive radiation therapy. Since completing radiation, Skyler has had 4 MRIs and will continue to receive annual scans, check-ups and treatment until he is eleven years old – When he will be officially considered in remission, and cancer free!
Unbelievable as it may seem, Skyler has been miraculous in his recovery and had you not known his story, you may never believe that “Super Skyler” was ever sick. On August 7th, 2016 Skyler underwent his latest in his annual MRIs and the results so far have been perfect: 100% tumor and cancer free!
Thanks to the incredible talent and dedication of doctors, specialists and care staff at SickKids, Skyler and thousands of children have been given a chance at a happy life.
It is because of support from you, that SickKids will continue to provide the best care and treatment to children around the world every day.
